Russell Stanturf

Russell Clyde Stanturf, 82, of 9469 Sperry Road, Sperry, died at 4:50 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, 1995, at Burlington Medical Center.

Born July 14, 1913, in Millgrove, Mo., he was the son of William Henry and Stella Dinsmore Stanturf. He married Vera Boline on Dec. 24, 1937, in Burlington.

Mr. Stanturf attended school in Millgrove, Mo. He was a farmer of agriculture and livestock, an employee of Des Moines County and the City of Burlington, and a night watchman at Murray Iron Works, retiring in May 1976.

He was of the Protestant faith.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Patty Drain of Sperry and Bonnie Crowner of Burlington; two sisters, Hazel Smith of Ankeny and Jessie Parmeter of Burlington; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Friends may call after 9 a.m. Sunday in Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

The funeral for Mr. Stanturf will be 1:30 p.m. Monday in Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Martin Lehmann officiating. Burial will be in the Loper Cemetery, Sperry.

A memorial has been established.
