Alice Elizabeth Corso, 72, of Burlington, died at 12:30 PM, Sunday, October 24, 2004, at her home after a short illness. Born August 24, 1932 in Freeport, IL, she was the daughter of Owen Andrew Sr. and Madelyn Helen Smith Stevens. On August 15, 1975 she married John Thomas Corso in Burlington. Mrs. Corso worked in the office at Montgomery Wards for 20 years. She was a 1949 graduate of St. Paul?s Catholic High School. She was a member of SS. John & Paul Catholic Church and past member the Burlington Bowling League. She collected angel statues, enjoyed sewing, crafts and loved traveling. Survivors include her husband John; three step daughters, Rona Robinson of Mt. Prospect, IL, Michelle Ericson of Crystal Lake, IL and Sophia Antonczyk of Bailey, CO; two step grandchildren; two brothers, Thomas H. Stevens and Joseph M. Stevens both of Burlington; three sisters, Margaret A. Poggemiller and Mary C. Stevens both of Burlington and Patricia L. Reed of Versailles, KY and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. Visitation will be after 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 27, at the Hass-Thielen Funeral Home with the family receiving friends following a 6:00 PM Christian Wake Service until 8:00 PM. The Mass of the Resurrection for Mrs. Corso will be 10:00 AM Thursday, October 28, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Patrick J. Hilgendorf as celebrant. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
