Illeen A. Lendt, 77 of Manchester, was born September 4, 1933, at Lowden, in Cedar County, Iowa, to John and Clara (Gade) Burmeister. She was raised and educated in the Clarence area.

Illeen was united in marriage to Elmer Lendt on December 31, 1950, at Clarence, Iowa. Four children were born to this union. Together they farmed near Tipton and later Dundee. In 1971, they moved to Manchester.

Illeen died Friday morning, May 20, 2011, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester. She was seventy-seven years of age. Illeen was a longtime member of Community Congregational Church.

Survivors include her four children, David Lendt of Sergeant Bluff, Deborah (Dick) Schmitt of Manchester, Darrell (Betty) Lendt of Manchester, and Diane Bosler of Manchester; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lloyd (Fannie) Burmeister of Tipton, and Dale Burmeister of Clarence; and three sisters, Bernice Werner of Solon, Shirley (Harlan) Meyer of Stanwood, and Kennethea Meier of Clarence.

Illeen was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer in 2002; one sister, Luella Hodgen; and a son-in-law, Bryan Bosler.
