DYERSVILLE Ambrose R. Maiers,75, died Sunday evening in St. Mary's Unit-Mercy Health Center after a long illness. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Basilica of St. Francis Xavier. Burial: church cemetery, with full military honors by Dyersville American Legion Post 137. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home, where there will be a Scripture wake service at 7 and an American Legion prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Survivors include his wife, Mercedes; and three sisters, Stacia Helle and Marcella Goedken, both of Manchester, and Calista Devine of Dyersville.

An Ambrose R. Maiers Memorial Fund has been established.
