Oelwein, Iowa

Mildred E. Krapfl, 77, of 524 Eighth Ave., N.E., Oelwein, died after a brief illness Saturday, March 4, 2000, at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oelwein, with the Rev. Frederick Fangmann officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hintz-Gellenfeld Funeral Home, Oelwein, where there will be a Senior Citizens rosary at 4:30 p.m., and a parish scripture service at 7 p.m.

Mrs. Krapfl did catering and worked at Roberts Nursing Home.

She was born on March 8, 1922 in Petersburg, daughter of Herman and Ella (Scherbring) Willenborg. She married Lee Krapfl on Sept. 4, 1947 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Petersburg.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and its rosary society and senior citizens.

Surviving are her husband, Lee; a daughter, Becci (Robert) McGowen, of Des Moines; and two brothers, Maurice (Helen) Willenborg and Marvin (Caryl) Willenborg, both of Dyersville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Ella.

Memorials may be given to the Iowa Diabetes Association.
