Earl NeilThe death of Earl Neil took place suddenly at his farm home Sunday morning. He had been in apparantely good health, but passed away from a heart attack.
Mr. Neil was born to Mr. and Mrs. Alex Neil on his father's farm 5 miles east of Hopkinton, May 2, 1890. He attended the local schools and was married to Esther Nordman Feb. 18, 1931. Their home was made on his farm east of town. They were the parents of 2 sons.
He was a member of the Presbyterian church, Masonic lodge and American Legion. He was also South Fork township clerk and clerk of South Fork township schools.
Surviving him are his wife and 2 little sons, 1 sister, Mrs. Ernest Gearhart, and 1 brother, Marshall Neil, both of Hopkinton. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church on Wednesday afternoon at 2:00. Rev. Walter Schiel of Manchester and Rev. Homer Dalrymple of Anamosa had charge. Burial was in Hopkinton.
