Nancy C Dalrymple Phillips

Nancy C. Dalrymple was born in Stark Co. Ohio, October 1, 1836 and died at her home near Delhi December 16, 1903. She came with her parents to Iowa in 1853, and settled in Delaware county. November 1, 1855, she was married to Jas. M Phillips. To this union there were born five daughters, all of whom have grown to womanhood and have gone out to make homes for themselves. Her husband and daughters and twenty-one grandchildren survive her, to mourn the loss of a faithful wife and mother and a safe counselor.
In 1858 she and her husband were converted and joined the United Brethren church, and she was a faithful worker in and supporter of that church while the society continued to hold services in the neighborhood, and though deprived the privilege of worship in the church of her choice for many years, she did not lose faith in God and her Savior, nor her love for her Bible, which she took for her daily counselor. The funeral services were held in the M. E. church in Delhi, Rev. L. H. Green officiating, His text was II Cor. 1:3,4 The remains were laid to rest in the Delhi cemetery.
