Mrs. Dorcas Stone
Edgewood: Mrs. Dorcas Caroline Stone, 90, passed away at the Edgewood Convalescent home Thursday, Jan. 14.
Funeral services were held Saturday at the Appleton funeral home, with the Rev. Thomas Lentz officiating. Burial was made in the Edgewood cemetery.
She was born May 22, 1880, the youngest daughter of John and Dorcas Curran, north of Edgewood. She attended Edgewood school and Epworth seminary. She later taught school on Bear Creek. On Nov. 28, 1900, she was married to Charles H. Stone. She lived all her life on a farm north of Edgewood. The last three years were spent in the Edgewood Convalescent home.
Survivors include five children Mrs. Peter (Hildred) Meyer of Dundee, Mrs. Gunnar (Thelma) Estling of Edgewood, Mrs. Don (Juanita) White of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Alvin (Zelda) Brown of Cedar Rapids and Charles R. Stone of Edgewood; fifteen grandchildren; forty-three great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Stone was preceded in death by her husband, two children, Mrs. Elmer (Madge) Kuehl of Strawberry Point and Edgar Stone of Altoona and six brothers and sisters.
