Colesburg Special:
Mrs. Genevra C. Peck, eldest resident of Colesburg and a lifelong resident of the community, died Tuesday, July 15 at Fairview Nursing home in Manchester.
Born in Colesburg Dec. 30, 1868, she was born the daughter of Perry and Margaret Wiggins Balsinger. She attended the Colesburg schools and later married Rolsten Peck of Colesburg. They were
parents of three children.
Mrs. Peck was active in the Minnihaha Chapter, OES, the Rebekah lodge and the American Legion Auxillary of which she was a charter member. She was a member of the Congregational church.
Funeral services were held at the Clifton Funeral Home in Earlville Thursday, July 18 with interment in Brown cemetery. Eastern star services were held at the funeral home and Rebekah services at the graveside. The Rev. Charles Fort of Earlville was the officiating minister.
Surviving are her daughter, Corabel Peck, three grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband, two sons, Fred and Frank, her parents and twelve brothers and sisters.
