Wm. Lamrond, 82, Longtime Resident, Dies; Rites Today
William J. Lemrond, 82, for over 55 years a resident of this community, passed away Tuesday afternoon at the Delaware County Memorial hospital following a brief illness.
Funeral services were scheduled at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) from the Shelly funeral home, with the Rev. Martin J. Prehn, pastor of the Presbyterian church, officiating. Burial will be made in Oakland Cemetery.
William John Lemrond, son of Moses and Mary Delaney Lemrond, was born Oct. 28, 1875, at Green Bay, Wis. At an early age he moved with his parents to Chicago, where he received his education and grew to young manhood.
On Jan. 7, 1900, he was united in marriage with Grace Finny at Sioux City. Following their marriage they lived at Tower, Minn., where he was foreman of a lumber mill. While living there two children, Charles and Inez, were born. In 1903, they came back to this vicinity and have been residents here since that time.
For 26 years, from 1921 until 1947 he was a partner in the Dairy City Milling company with Charles McCormick and Alec Stearns, He retired in 1947.
Mr. Lemrond was a member of the Presbyterian church of Manchester and of Manchester lodge No. 165 A. F. and A. M.
He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. J. F. (Inez) Gienapp of Manchester; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three nieces and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Charles, in 1940, and by his parents and three sisters.
