Jaeger Dies After Brief Illness
Petersburg: Albert J. Jaeger, 81, of Guttenberg died at 12:10 a.m. Friday, Dec 16 at Mercy Medical Center, Dubuque. Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic church, Guttenberg with burial in Mount Olivet cemetery. In charge of arrangements was the Tuecke-Allenstein Funeral Home here where the Scripture service was held at 8 p.m. Sunday. He was a World War One veteran and American Legion member.
Surviving are his wife, the former Lucille Hefel; six sons; George and Robert, both of Dubuque, Donald of Seguin, Texan, Joseph of St. Catherines, Raymond and Roland of Peru Ind.; five daughters, Mrs. Adolph (Lorraine) Wolter of Guttenberg, Mrs. Russell (Dorothy) Cole of Dubuque, Mrs. Elmer (Evelyn) Scherbring of Petersburg, RR, Earlville, Mrs. Eldon (Marita) Kregel of Luana, and Mrs. Walter (Norma) Engelken of Dyersville; 52 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; a brother Arnold of Epworth and two sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Anna) Greve of North Buena Vista and Mrs. Ida "Blondie" Lowery of Dubuque.
