Frank Stoddard of Delaware dies
Well-known resident of Delaware succumbs to Heart Ailment. Funeral Thursday.
Frank Stoddard, long time resident of the Delaware community, died in a local hospital here last Tuesday afternoon, May 14, 1940, following a brief illness of heart trouble.
Funeral services were held in Delaware Thursday afternoon, with the Rev. H.H. Palmer, pastor of the Earlville Methodist church, in charge. Burial was made in the Earlville cemetery.
Mr. Stoddard was born in Eahlen, Germany, Jan. 10,1876 and at the age of nine years came with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stoddard Sr., to America. The family located at Delaware, the home of Mr. Stoddard ever since.
On April 20 1904, he was united in marriage with Miss Hattie Ham, at Earlville. To this union were born two daughters, Mrs. Ben Shelden of east of Manchester, and Mrs. Esther Trumblee of this city.
Mr. Stoddard is survived by the widow, the two daughters named, and one sister, Mrs. Minnie Magories of Butte, Montana; and two brothers, Herman Stoddard of Hopkinton, and Louis Stoddard of California. A brother and two sisters have preceded him in death.
Mr. Stoddard, by reason of his long residence in Delaware, was well known, and was held in the highest esteem by neighbors and friends. The family has the earnest sympathy of many friends in their sorrow.
