Dennis B. Malone, 65, retired farmer of Aurora, and former Delaware county resident, passed away early Sunday morning at Peoples hospital in Independence following a heart attack suffered at his home a short time before his passing. Services for Mr. Malone were held from the Shelly funeral home to St. Mary's church in Manchester at 10 a.m. Wednesday where a high mass of requiem was celebrated. Burial was made in St. Mary's cemetery at Manchester. Recitation of the rosary was held Monday and Tuesday evening at 8 p.m. at the Shelly funeral home.
Dennis Bernard, son of William Dennis and Mary Ann McKeever Malone, was born on the parental farm in Delaware county in the Dundee community. He grew to young manhood on the farm and received his education in the schools of Dundee. Following his schooling he assisted in the operation of the parental farm until his marriage to Josephine Ann Sands.
Following their marriage they farmed in the Dundee and Masonville areas and later moved to farm in the Aurora community until 1966 when he retired and moved to Aurora.
He is survived by his wife,three sons, Phillip D. Malone of Cedar Rapids, Melvin R. Malone of Aurora, Dennis W. Malone of Aurora; three daughters, Mrs. Roger(Mary) Helle of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Emmett(Dennise)Grant of Cascade, and Mrs. Ed(Sherry) Schaul of Chandler, Arizona; nineteen grandchildren; three brothers,Matt, Ed and Harold all of Manchester; five sisters, Mrs. Roy Frentress, Mrs. Ray Frentress, and Mrs. Howard Speed all of Manchester, Mrs Max Thompson of Lamont, and Mrs. Albert McDonald of Ryan, and a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives.
