My husband descends from the Hollett family. I have quite a bit of information on them which I'm sure you already have. Here is S.F. Darnielle's obituary that I received from another researcher. I have nothing more on him as I'm just researching the Holletts:

25 January
Prominent Fabius Township Citizen
Passes Away Sunday

Samuel Franklin Darnielle was born April 23, 1847, near Memphis, MO., and departed this life at Bloomfield, Iowa, January 21, 1917.

He came to Davis Couhnty, Iowa, when seventeen years of age. On Feb. 24, 1870, he was married to Samantha Hollett, of Monterey, Iowa. To this union were born six children, Geo. W. of Lancaster, MO., E. B., of Gardena, Idaho; Mrs. Isom Iamb, of Toppenish, Wash.; Mrs. Aminto Niblack, of Trenton, Mo., Mrs. John Kline, of Bloomfield, and S. F., of Minneapolis, Minn.

While yet a young man he confessed his faith in Christ and united with the Christian church at Monterey.

The wife and mother departed this life in 1901. The six children and eleven grandchildren survive him.

Mr. Darnielle was very quiet in his manner, but in a very unostentatious way he stood for right principles. Whenever it was a question of right or wrong, it was always known where he would stand. He loved his family and very frequently spole of his pleasure in them. His children in turn gave him the respect and love he so voluntarily gave them and opened their homes to his enjoyment.

The deceased went to the local hospital for treatment but it was soon discovered that his trouble was of such a character that he could not permantently recover. His children came and were with him, someo them all the time. His suffering was intense and constant, hence death released him from that which took all the joy out of living.

A brief service was held at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. F. Kline, after which the body was taken to Monterey where, at the Christian church, the funeral service proper was held. Many old friends and neighbors were present to pay their last respects to one they had known for so long.

The funeral service was conducted by Rev. George E. Purdy, and interment was made in the Monteray Cemetery.
