OK S., That's my point. Regardless of which board/list/forum you post on, you want a beneficial response that will further your research. Most volunteers see those first words, "Looking for information" and just go elsewhere. They know that like yourself, most posters usually have more data on their ancestors. So what would have been accomplished if I had sent you the 1880 census? You already have it and I wasted my time. Always request a specific record/document that will further your research. You said you had the marriage certificate. Is it the civil record or a church record? Now, when & where do you first have Thomas Devine on a census record? Are Sarah McGinnis parents William & "Recey" ? And if so, did something occur in the famly? I may be on to something but I need to know what you have or need prior to Sarah's marriage. Dick
