LOS ANGELES — Laurence (Larry) D. Jackson, loving husband, father of two and committed attorney died Tuesday, January 27, 2009, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, CA, after a long battle with carcinoid cancer. He was 53. Larry was born in Clinton, Iowa, to Everall and Marvell Jackson. He was a 1973 graduate of Clinton High School. After graduating from the University of Iowa and receiving his law degree from the University of Chicago, Larry began to construct the life he dreamed of: He moved to a beachside apartment in Venice, CA, and bought a motorcycle. He met his wife, Laura Christa, in 1981 when she moved into the office next to his at the law firm of Finley Kumble. They wed in 1984. Laura made him give up the bike when their first child, Peter, was born in 1987. A daughter, Lucy, was born in 1991. In 1994, Laura and Larry started Christa and Jackson, a litigation boutique specializing in contract disputes and class action defense for local and international clients. In addition to Laura, Peter and Lucy, Larry is survived by his mother Marvel Jackson of Clinton, his brother Darrell (Lois) Jackson also of Clinton, two nieces and a nephew. A memorial service for Larry was held on Sunday, February 1, 2009, at the historic Ebell, an educational and philanthropic club in Los Angeles.Death date: Jan. 27, 2009
