The Clinton Herald Monday May 23, 1927 p. 6 Mrs. Bessie Eagan, 111 North Fourth street, passed away at 8 o'clock Sunday evening at Mercy hospital where she had been ill for the past two weeks. She had been in failing health for the past three months. Death was due to complications. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Patrick's church with burial in St. Mary's cemetery. Bessie McCabe came to Clinton from county Meath, Ireland, when a young girl. She was united in marriage to P.J. Eagan in Fulton, Ill., and her preceded her in death thirteen years ago. Seven children were born to them, three, Mamie, Richard and James, preceding her in death. To revere the memory of an excellent mother there are John, Margaret, Frances and Mrs. Leo Ketelsen, and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Jane Ketelsen, all of this city. Mrs. Eagan was a woman of admirable character, home loving, popular, and a devoted member of St. Patrick's church. She had been a resident of Clinton for forty years.
