ELLISVILLE, Mo. — Charles H. “Charlie” Obermire, born July 12, 1916, asleep in Jesus, Monday, Jan. 5, 2009.Dearest husband for 60 years (married June 28, 1948) of Elizabeth “Betty” Obermire (nee Riehm); father of Virginia “Ginny” (Ed) McGue of Ellisville, Steven C. (Betty Jean) Obermire of Villa Ridge and Janet L. (Robert) Fiallo of Miami Springs, FL; grandfather of Jane McGue, Timoth (Lisa) McGue, Kevin McGue, Tonia Obermire, Steven (Julie Griese) Obermire Jr., Michael Fiallo, Katherine Fiallo and the late Christian Fiallo and Joseph Fiallo of Miami, FL; great-grandfather of Ethan and Abigail McGue and Gavyn Obermire; brother of the late Arthur Obermire of Tulsa, OK, and Mary Ivalee Kampling of Clinton, IA. Loved uncle and friend to many.Mr. Obermire served in the 17th Field Artillery Observation V Corps in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a lifetime member of the National Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge and lifetime member of June Van Meter American Legion Post 190 of Clinton, IA. Charlie worked in printing press repair for 50 years and was the owner of Offset Press Repair.Services: Funeral service at the Schrader Funeral Home and Crematory, 14960 Manchester Road at Holloway, Ballwin, Friday, 11:30 a.m. Interment: Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
