DEWITT — Ruth Ellen Obermiller-Goble, 93, of DeWitt, died Dec. 29, 2008, at Westwing Place, DeWitt. Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 2, 1:30-3:30 p.m., at Lemke Funeral Homes, South Chapel, 2610 Manufacturing Drive. Funeral services will follow at 3:30 p.m. with Pastor Charles Johnson of Camanche Baptist Church officiating. Pallbearers will be Scott Goble, Bill Goble, Jeff Goble, Matthew Lieferman and Donny Hall. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Ruth Ellen was born March 31, 1915, in DeWitt to William and Maybelle Claussen Obermiller. She married William Carl Goble Aug. 31, 1935. He is deceased. Ruth Ellen was a member of Camanche Baptist Church. She was baptized Oct. 17, 1915, at Trinity Lutheran, Clinton. She also was a member of the Women of the Moose and the Rebekah Lodge. She loved sewing, cooking and making crafts. She worked at the Frontier in Clinton and retired from Jane Lamb (Mercy Medical South) of Clinton. Survivors include her children, Melvin of California, Marvin of Arizona, Nancy Bradley of Florida, Patsy Haack of Missouri and Keith of Wisconsin; 18 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a sister. A memorial fund has been set up at Clinton National Bank. Death date: Dec. 29, 2008
