DIED - In Madison, on the 24th of October, of Diptheria, Lottie B., only daughter of Louis A. and Emma F. Pradt, aged two years and eight months.

The year's beautiful artist walks among us; the leaves of the maple grow crimson beneath his fairy pencil, and the follage of the beech is golden. Brillant as Nature is in her Autumn garments, our hearts are saddened to record that God has been with us and has taken little Lottie, our first-born, to dwell with him in Paradise.

"Oh! We are so lonely! The funeral train
Bore so much joy away - left so much pain;
The angel we cherished - our blessing, our love,
Plumed her bright wings for mansions above."
E.F.P.

~Weekly North Iowa Times, Wednesday, November 4, 1863; pg 2

Note: Note: Lottie's burial place is unknown. An April, 1858 issue of the Weekly North Iowa Times, reported the marriage of Mr. L.A. Pradt of Sheboygan, WI to Emma F. Barrett of McGregor. The marriage took place in South Bend, IN on 4/8/1858.
