GLAWE, KELPIEN, CLABAUGH

Clayton County Register, 09 May 1957.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon for Valmah W. Glawe, 42, former Elkader man who died Saturday, May 04, in Algona. Services were conducted at the Zion Lutheran church at Clayton Center at 2 o'clock. Burial was in the Zion cemetery. The Rev. J. H. Zerhusen, pastor, officiated at the services.

Glawe was born near Elkader September 17, 1914, and was a son of Louis and Emma Kelpien Glawe. He was married to Elanor Clabaugh in 1950.

After leaving Elkader, Glawe made his home in Webster City for a time before moving to Algona, where he operated a tavern.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his parents, of Elkader, and one brother, LaVern, of Webster City.
