Requiem mass was offered for Mrs. Charles Rothmeyer, 72, of Monona, at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 16, at St. Patrick's church in Monona by the Rev. John Peters. Burial was in St. Patrick's cemetery.
Mrs. Rothmeyer died of a heart attack Saturday evening, April 13, at the Postville hospital, where she had been taken that morning. She was born Feb. 28, 1885, at Mederville, Iowa, the daughter of William and Mary Leonard, where she spent her childhood. She was educated in Elkader parochial school and was a member of St. Patrick's Rosary society.
She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. R. J. (Mary) Freund and Mrs. John (Helen) Maxwell of Davenport; three sons, Charles, Joseph, and John of Monona; eight grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Lawrence Dinan, Littleport, and one brother, Mike Leonard of Elkader.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Pallbearers were: George Cassutt, Mike Hurley, Steve Donlon, Stepen Leonard, Jim Leonard, Wm. Mench, Tom Grady and Lloyd Leonard.
