Funeral services for Henry Kruse of Farmersburg were held at the Schultz funeral home, Masonic Services were held on Thursday evening with Harry Schott of Marquette officiating. Services on Friday were conducted by the Rev. Scherer of the Giard Methodist church.
Henry Kruse, son of William and Mary Kruse, was born at Read, Iowa, March 23, 1878, and died March 05, 1957, at 7:20 a.m., at the Elmwood rest home in Prairie du Chien, Wis. He had lived all his life in Clayton county.
On Dec. 03, 1901, he was married to Augusta Behrens, who died in 1948. Eight children were born to them.
He worked for the Milwaukee railroad 35 years, retiring in 1943. Mr. Kruse enjoyed excellent health until the past year.
A daughter, Esther, preceded him in death as did two brothers and two sisters.
Those surviving are a sister and brother, Sophia Seeland, and George Kruse of Elkader; seven children, Harvey of Pasadena, Calif.; Harold, St. Paul, Minn.; Harry, Margaret and Marilyn, Chicago; Marjorie Garard, Garden City, N.Y.; Joyce, with the army in Germany; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Relatives from away who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Vic Meyer, Clear Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Radloff, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Radloff, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Quintas, Frieda Radloff and Harold Radloff, Garner.
