Funeral services for Louie Mike Baumgartner, 72, were held at the St. Sebald Lutheran church north of Strawberry Point on Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 27, with the Rev. Herman Cronrath officiating. Interment was in the St. Sebald cemetery.

Louie Baumgartner was born on Jan. 20, 1885, the son of Herman and Anna Niedermeier Baumgartner, on the farm which was to be his home for his entire life. On Feb. 03, 1910, he was married to Anna Pfrommer at the St. Sebald church, of which he was a life-long member. He enjoyed fishing in his spare time. Last fall he was hospitalized for a time as a result of a car-truck accident but seemed to have recovered until his final illness which kept him bedfast for about the last month. He died early Monday morning, Feb. 25.

He is survived by Mrs. Baumgartner; four children, Mrs. Ernest (Lillian) Zwanziger, Louie Jr., Edna and Vernon Baumgartner, all of Strawberry Point, and four brothers and a sister. They are: Martin, William and John Baumgartner and Mrs. Sigmund (Minnie) Otdoerfer of Strawberry Point and George Baumgartner of Dundee. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, four brothers and three sisters.
