Extracted from the Army Correspondence column, from the 9th IA ..... "Near Franklin, Mo., Jan 6, 1862 ... deaths Lyman Sargeant, Corporal from Cox Creek, died in Nov. of typhoid fever ... and Warren Foles of Boardman township ... on the 25th of Dec.

Notes: From the "Roster & Records of Iowa Soldiers, War of the Rebellion" = surname SARGGENT. Burial = Nat'l Cemetery Franklin, Mo.

This is very likely Lyman Sergeant, age 42, b. VT enumerated on the 1860 U.S. census in Cox Creek twp.; wife: Phobe, children: Hannah, Philip, Isabel & Mary
