Alfred Thomas Knudson was born December 06, 1888, at St. Olaf, Iowa, the son of Tom and Hannah Knudson. He died January 12, 1957, at the age of 68.
He was baptized and confirmed at Norway Lutheran church near St. Olaf.
In August of 1917 he enlisted in the United States army. His service included a year and one-half in France during World War I.
In May, 1919, he was discharged from the army and on June 19, 1919, Mr. Knudson was married to Nettie Lauve of Clarkfield, Minn., at McIntosh, S.D. Two children were born to them: Helen, Mrs. Vernon Diers of St. Olaf, and Clyde of Dalles, Texas.
After his discharge from the army, Mr. Knudson remained in the reserves and shortly after the Pearl Harbor attack he was again called to active duty. In August, 1944, he was retired from the army because of disability.
He had been in ill health since that time.
Mr. Knutson was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Surviving him are his widow, two children and three grandchildren.
