Mrs. Anna Burgholzer, daughter of R. E. Meyer and Emma Trombull Meyer, was born December 28, 1868, in Cox Creek township, Clayton County, Iowa, and died at the hospital in Prairie du Chien, Wis., Thursday morning, January 17, 1957, at the age of 88 years and 20 days.

Anna Meyer was married to Wendell J. Burgholzer on October 11, 1900, at Aurora, Ill. In the year 1902 they moved to Chicago, Ill., and lived there until her husband's death December 18, 1951. Since then she has resided in Elkader, Iowa, with her sister, Miss Mary A. Meyer.

Several months ago she entered Finley hospital at Dubuque, Iowa, where she underwent surgery, and remained in a critical condition for several months. She returned to Elkader for a short time in December and on January 01, was taken to the hospital at Prairie du Chien where she remained until her death.

She was a member of the Atonement Lutheran church in Chicago for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, seven brothers and three sisters, and is survived by one sister, Mary A. Meyer of Elkader, and one brother, Judge Joseph E. Meyer of Des Moines, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Saturday, January 19, at 1:00 p.m. at the Witt chapel with the Rev. Paul Kitterer officiating. After the services at Elkader the body was transferred to Aurora, Illinois, to the Dalididen chapel where services were held on Monday, January 21, with burial in the Spring Lake cemetery.

Meyer, Jr. Denver, Colo.; Mrs. Paul Schaffer, Prescott, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Warren Bastian, Meridan, Iowa; Arthur Meyer, Joseph Meyer and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Meyer, Kanawha, Iowa; Mrs. M. H. Greene and son Carl, Grand Rapids, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. Allen Meyer, Elma, Iowa.
