Funeral services for Clarence Sturm were held Friday, Jan. 18, 1957, at 2 p.m. from the Witt chapel, Elkader, with the Rev. Paul Kitterer officiating. Burial was at Strawberry Point.
Clarence Henry Sturm, the son of John and Sophie Homan Sturm, was born Sept. 11, 1898, in Cox Creek township near Osborne and died suddenly Jan. 15 while in his car preparing to leave for work. He had reached the age of 58 years, four months and three days.
Clarence had suffered from a heart ailment for a number of years, but had remarked on this morning that he felt very well.
On June 21, 1922, he was married to Eva E. Gordon at Elkader.
Mr. Sturm spent his entire life in Clayton county, most of it in Osborne, living in the present home for the past 27 years. His chosen occupation was that of a carpenter.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Lou, who died in infancy, his parents, and one brother, John.
He is survived by his wife, two sisters, Mrs. Marie Meyers, Elkader, and Mrs. Clarence Beck, Littleport, two nieces and five nephews.
