LUANA: Mrs. Augusta M. Schroeder Kamps, aged 73, died at one o'clock, Friday, at her home in Dubuque following an illness of 3 weeks. The funeral services were held at her home, Sunday, at 12:30 and in the Luana Lutheran church at 3:00 with her pastor, the Rev. H. L. Daugs officiating. The Rev. Paul Adix of Luana was in charge of services at the cemetery.
Mrs. Kamps was born at Garnavillo, June 12, 1868 but resided in the vicinity of Luana many years. In 1923 the family moved to Dubuque.
Surviving are her husband, Fred C. Kamps and ten children: Mrs. J. B (Elise) Henson, Pinewood, Minn.; Mrs. Max (Frieda) Hinman, Leonard, Minn.; Mrs. Lyle (Hilda) Engelhardt, Luana; Mrs. George (Amanda) Messing, Pittsburgh, Pa.; Henry of Durango; Mrs. Cyril (Esther) Kruse, Miss Elizabeth, Miss Vivian, Vern and Mrs. George (Leatha) Pollitt, all of Dubuque. A brother, Henry Schroeder and Mrs. Ida Kamin of Luana, Mrs. Henry Eggert of Waukon and Mrs. Charles Schnieder of Merrill, Wis., and 17 grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, three sisters and a brother.
