Funeral services for Gottlieb Steinhilben were held at the Gill funeral chapel Tuesday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. James E. McLain. The pall-bearers were J. R. King, C. Zwanziger, W. F. Barnes, H. J. Esch, John Huebsch, and L. Thomas. Burial was in the St. Sebald cemetery.
As a son of Gottlieb and Wilhelmina Hassuler Steinhilber, he was born on a farm near Dubuque, October 10, 1858, and died at his home Sunday afternoon. When a small boy he moved with his parents to the St. Sebald community, where he resided until about thirty-five years ago, when he and his sister moved to town. He was never married. His parents and three brothers, Charles of Strawberry Point, George and Steve of Pocahontas, have preceded him in death. Surviving are his sister, Mrs. Minnie Clough of Strawberry Point and one brother, Henry, of Truesdale. Also three nieces and two nephews.
