Funeral services for James Prouty, 73, formerly of Marquette, who died at his home in Prairie du Chien Monday, were held at the Pilkington funeral home in McGregor Wednesday afternoon, the Rev. G. W. McMicharl of the Methodist church officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Grove cemetery at McGregor. Mr. Prouty had been an employee of the Milwaukee railroad. He is survived by his wife, three sons, Verne and Truman of Marquette, and James of Chicago; three daughters, Mrs. Carl Steffens and Mrs. Herbert Goltz of Marquette and Mrs. Zillah Trippe of Cadotto, Wis., and several grandchildren.
