Freda Ferdinandine Falck, daughter of Lorenz and Anna Falck was born in Fayette county five miles west of Strawberry Point on Aug. 29, 1893 and died at her home Monday morning after a lingering illness. She was baptized and confirmed by Rev. G. Graf, then pastor of the local Emanuel's Lutheran church. She received her education in the rural and local public school. In 1914 she moved to town with her parents and two years later went to Davenport where she remained ten years as clerk and later advanced to the position as head sales lady and assistant buyer in a dry goods department store.
