Funeral services for Lars L. Olson, 77, were held Monday, Aug. 16, at 1:30 o'clock at the home and at 2 o'clock at the Norway Lutheran church, the Rev. S. J. Strandjord officiating. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.

Lars L. Olson, son of Levi and Gundi Olson, was born on a farm in Clayton county April 01, 1871. He was baptized and confirmed in the Norway Lutheran church, of which he had been a life-long member.

He was married to Belle Knutson. They farmed in this community until three years ago, when they moved to Elkader.

Mr. Olson suffered a stroke at his home in Elkader Thursday morning, Aug. 12, and died at his home Friday morning, Aug. 13, at the age of 77 years,
four months and 12 days.

Survivors are his wife, Belle, a daughter, Mrs. Marvin Staake, St. Olaf, three sons, Leonard, Lyle and Glen, all of Elkader, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Sarah Carney, St. Olaf, three brothers, Hans of Elkader, Knut of St. Olaf, and Willie of Ruthven. He was one of thirteen children. Four brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.

Pallbearers were six nephews; namely, Merill, Lawrence, Vernie, Gerhard, Lonie and Cornelius Olson.

Friends and relatives attending the funeral from a distance were: Mrs. Mae Olson, Spencer; Willie Olson Ruthven; Mr. and Mrs. Louie Light, West Union; Lonie Olson and Cornelius Olson, Clermont; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Eckley, Milfort; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gieser, Sherburn, Minn.; Walter Gieser, Everly; Mrs. Paul Gogg, Clarksville; Mrs. Ernie Eaton, Austin, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Leon Litchford, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Litchford, and Harry Bergan, Postville; Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Olson, Monona; Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Olson and Rube Kurth, Gunder.
