DIED - At Clayton, March 14th, of Lung Fever, J.G. Jerome, aged about 50 years. Funeral services at his house, by Rev. W. Cobb.

Mr. Jerome was one of the most prominent citizens of Clayton. He was postmaster since 1858. All business was suspended on the day of his burial.

A widow, eight children and hosts of friends are mourning for him.

Note: James G. & his wife Eliza M. (Enslow) Jerome, are buried in the Clayton cemetery.
