The mass of resurrection will be celebrated for Dr. Raymond Edger Grant, 78, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Volga, Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1982, 10 a.m. The cremains will be interred at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Rev. Bertram J. Kalb will officiate.
He was born April 30, 1904 at Cambridge, Mass., to Andrew and Emma Grant. After graduation from the University of Minnesota Medical School, he began his medical practice in Volga in 1931 and remained there until his retirement in 1978. He died Sunday, Dec. 12, at his home in Volga.
Survivors include his wife Shirley; four children, Mrs Kenneth (Suzanne) Fugger, Carizo Springs, Tx.; Jamie, Iowa City; Jon, Ann Arbor, Mich.; and Anita, San Diego, Calif.; three stepchildren, Kenneth Kirby, Toddwille, Iowa; Mrs. Bill (Connie) Miller, Hazelton; and Mrs. Larry (Kathy) Hicks, Rogers, Arkansas; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild; a brother Dr. L.C. Grant Pasadana, Calif., and a sister, Dr. Millicent Johnson, Bakersfield, Calif.
His parents preceded him in death.

Note: Not mentioned in the obituary were his first 2 marriages; 1st to Georgia Eunice Ferguson who died in 1939 in Dixon, IL. Next he married Anna Baldwin at Reno, Nevada on 9/5/1942. She died in 1953. His 3rd wife was Shirley Kirby Grant nee Lang, who died in 2014.
