Funeral services for William Krogman, 91, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Schroeder in Postville, on Monday, November 18, were held from the Schuette funeral home in Postville at one o'clock on Friday afternoon, to the Peace Evangelical and Reformed church in Elkader at two p.m. The Rev. Paul Kitterer officiating. Burial was in the East Side cemetery, Elkader.
William John Krogman was born in Gohrin Mecklinberg, Germany. on June 07, 1855. He came to America in 1882. He lived in Toledo, Ohio, and a few years were spent in West Union. He came to Elkader in 1887 where he operated a tailor shop for many years. His wife preceded in death in 1940. He then moved to Postville where he spent his last years with his daughter, Mrs. John Schroeder. He was a member of the Peace Evangelical and Reformed church in Elkader.
Surviving him are four daughters, (Meta) Mrs. John Schroeder, Postville; (Bertha) Mrs. Myrl Hicks, Charles City; (Emma) Mrs. F. O. Zimmerman of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and (Frieda) Mrs. W. E. Sturenwath of Lehigh, Ia.
Preceding him in death were a twin son and daughter William and Wilhelmina.
