Steven Lee Lau, 66, of Manchester, died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014, at his home.

Visitation was Thursday, Sept. 04, at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Guttenberg.

Graveside services followed the visitation at the Garnavillo Community Cemetery, conducted by Rev. Shane Anderson.

Steve was born on Aug. 06, 1948, in Guttenberg to Merrill and Adele Lau.

Steve grew up in Guttenberg and graduated from the Guttenberg High School with the class of 1966. While in school, Steve was an excellent athlete. He is responsible for many high school records. He played for many area baseball and softball teams and played in the city basketball league for many years. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army serving as a medic in Vietnam. After his service, Steve worked for Nordic Forge then he went to work for John Deere and retired after 30 years. Steve loved watching the Cubs and the Hawkeyes, reading westerns, especially Louis L'Amour and in his last years, Steve really enjoyed going to auctions and collecting antiques.

Steve is survived by his daughter, Kecia (Ian) Schultz of Guttenberg; siblings, Sandie (Lonnie) Beisker of McGregor, Wayne (Carol) Lau and Jeff (Jean) Lau, both of Guttenberg, Dawn (Dan) Coyle of Delhi and Merrill (Tanya) Hyde of The Villages, Fla., and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
