Last Thursday afternoon funeral services were held at the Congregational church for Mrs. Ben Oleson, 83, formerly a resident of McGregor. Mrs. Oleson died at her home at Edmonds, Washington, where she has made her home for the past several years. As Nellie Childs she was born April 01, 1863 at Albin, Wis. She was married to Ben Oleson May 28, 1884 at Spencer, Iowa. Mr. Oleson was a veteran railroad man through Iowa and South Dakota for the Milwaukee road for 60 years. After his retirement they moved to a farm at Milford, Iowa.

They had made their home in McGregor for 36 years. Mrs. Oleson was a member of the Congregational church, Eastern Star, and White Shrine. She was a member of the Tourist Club for 20 years. Mrs. Oleson is survived by one son, Clifton Oleson, recently discharged from the army air force with the rank of major; one sister, Miss Isora Childs and one brother, Clayton Childs, both of Edmonds, Wash.

Burial was in Pleasant Grove cemetery.
