Henry Christ Fred Taake, brother of George and August Taake and Mrs. Lisseta Kelpien of Elkader and Mrs. Louisa Glawe of Farmersburg, died at his home at Guttenberg, Jan. 04. Burial was Jan. 08 at Clayton Center, with services conducted by the Rev. Wm. Domres.
Mr. Taake was born March 11, 1872, at Clayton Center. On June 12, 1901, he was married to Louisa Wilker of Clayton Center. They were the parents of six children, two of whom preceded their parents in death. Mrs. Taake died July 19, 1924.
On June 16, 1926, Mr. Taake married Johanna Roeben of Clayton Center, and six years later they moved from the farm to Guttenberg.
Surviving are Mrs. Taake, a son LeRoy of Clayton Center; three daughters, Mrs. Verni Berns of Waukon; Mrs. Iona Henning and Mrs. Merril Marting, both of Garnavillo; 13 grandchildren; two aunts, Mrs. Minnie Engelhardt of St. Olaf and Mrs. Louisa Leibrock of Elkader. A sister, two brothers and one grandchild preceded him in death.
