Funeral services for Mrs. Alma Heitkamp, 61, were held at the Witt funeral chapel at 1:30 o'clock, Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 05, 1950 and at Peace Evangelical and Reformed church at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Paul Kitterer officiated. Burial was in the East Side cemetery.

Mrs. Heitkamp had been in failing health for the past year. She was taken to the hospital in Dubuque twice during the last year to undergo surgery, but to no avail. Temporary relief was given her and she expected to return to her home in a few days. Death came suddenly Saturday morning, Dec. 02 1950. She had reached the age of 61 years, nine months and nine days.

Alma Dorthea Schuety was born in Wagner township, February 23, 1889, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Schuety. She received her education in the Rural school near her home.

She spent her entire life in Clayton county. On September 09, 1914, se was united in marriage at Elkader to William Heitkamp Jr. Her husband preceded her in death in the year 1939. Two children were born to this union Ivanell, Mrs. Latham, who made her home with her mother and Willis who died in infancy.

Mrs. Heitkamp was a confirmed member of the Peace Evangelical and Reformed church of Elkader.

She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Ivanell Latham, two sisters, Miss Anna Schuety, Elkader; Mrs. John Glawe, Littleport; four brothers, Henry Schuety of Brainard, Minn.; Emil Schuety, St. Olaf; Herman and Ferdinand Schuety of near Elkader, also one grandchild, William Latham.

Preceding her in death were her husband and one son, her parents and four brothers.

Pallbearers were six nephews: Alvin Glawe, Leroy Glawe, Carlus Schuety, Lester Glawe, William Schuety and Lloyd Glawe.

Relatives attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Schuety, Fayette; Mrs. Nelda Schuety, Wadena; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Larson, Postville; Mr. and Mrs. Le Roy Glawe, Edgewood; Mrs. Clarence Beck, Mr. and Mrs. John Glawe and Lester, Littleport; Alvin Glawe, Dubuque; Mr. and Mrs. Emil Schuety, William and Elmer, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Glawe, St. Olaf; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Sturm, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Schuety, Charles Heitkamp, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schuety and Carlus of Elkader; Sgt. John C. Latham, Mitchel Air Force Base, New York; Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Jaster Strawberry Point; Mrs. Marie Meyers.
