Mary Ellen Finnegan, 68, died Tuesday, June 20, at about 9:15 a.m. at her home in Elkader. Funeral services were held at St. Joseph's church at 9:30 o'clock Thursday morning. She was buried in St. Joseph's cemetery.

Funeral services for Miss Mary Ellen Finnegan, 67, were held from the residence to St. Joseph's church at 9:15 Thursday morning. The Very Rev. B. H. Skahill officiated. Burial was in the family lot in St. Joseph's cemetery.
Miss Finnegan died suddenly Tuesday morning, June 20, at her home in Elkader. Death was due to a heart condition.
Mary Ellen Finnegan was born in Read township, September 24, 1882, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Boyle Finnegan. The past thirty-eight years she had made her home with her brother and sister in Elkader.
She is survived by four sisters and one brother, namely: Miss Margaret Finnegan, Mrs. Charles (Alice) Wagner and N. J. Finnegan, all of Elkader; Mrs. Elizabeth Finnegan Coffee, Rockford, Ill.; Mrs. Frank (Rose) Dahlstrom, Mason City; also six nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents and a brother, James J. Finnegan who died in 1947.
Pallbearers were Clarence Lynch, Virgil Uriell, Joseph Collins, James Leonard, Ed Moyna, Reynold Hedeman.

J. Finnegan and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Finnegan of Colesburg; Mrs. Alma Hall and family, Ray Finnegan, Mr. and Mrs. Realto Berns, Miss Mary Mitchell, all of Elkport; Miss Agnes Flaherty, Garber; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kister and son, Mr. and Mrs. Don Uriell and family, all of Garnavillo.
