Miss Sophie Walters*, 76, died Tuesday at Mercy hospital in Oelwein. Services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Emmanuel Lutheran church in Strawberry (Point), and burial will be in the Strawberry Point cemetery.

She was born Oct. 04, 1873, near Elkader, was a daughter of William and Sophia (Becker) Walters. She lived at Elkader all her life, but four years which she lived in Strawberry Point.

She was a graduate of the Elkader public school and was a seamstress.

Four sisters survive her: Mrs. Carrie Stahl of Elkader; Mrs. Ida Fliehler of Strawberry Point; Mrs. Rose Peake of Oelwein; and Mrs. Emma Fisk of Edmonds, Wash. She is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and three brothers.
