-We are informed that Wm. Wooden, Senior, while lying in his bed, and near deaths door, has been robbed of every cent of money that he had in the house. Hades might be raked over with a fine toothed comb, and nothing so contemptably low, and utterly without principle, as the party or parties who would stoop to such a dastardly act could be found. It should be investigated and the guilty party be brought to speedy account.

-William Wooden died Monday night at 12 o'clock of heart trouble. He will be buried in the McGregor cemetery, the time is not yet set for the funeral. Mr. Wooden was 50 years old and well and favorably known. His death is learned with regret.

-The notice in the last weeks paper was a false report. There was no money stolen whatever at Wm. Wooden's place as I was there and had charge of everything. Mary E. Whitish

Note: I did not find a full obituary. Buried Pleasant Grove cemetery. DOB varies according to records from 1839-1842. Served in Civil War with Co. F, 10th MN Inf.
