Clayton County Register, 22 Apr. 1942.
STRAWBERRY POINT: Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, April 21, for Miss Carrie M. Roberts, 68, from the Gill Funeral chapel. Burial was in the Strawberry Point cemetery. The Rev. Glenn S. Hartong, pastor of the Methodist church, officiated. Miss Roberts died Sunday morning at five o'clock following a lingering illness, of which she was bedfast the past three months.
She was born Oct. 03, 1873, on the old Roberts farm three miles southeast of Strawberry Point, the only daughter of Nelson and Charlotte Roberts. Her mother died when Miss Roberts was three years of age and later, Mr. Roberts married Miss Draper, who died when Miss Roberts was twelve years of age. Miss Roberts then assumed the duties of caring for the home of her father and her only brother, Ernest. After her father's death, she and her brother moved into town, where they continued to live together in their home on Vernon street until his passing in 1936. Miss Roberts continued to live in the home until her death April 19. When she was able, she attended the services at the Methodist church.
Although she leaves no immediate relatives to mourn her passing, there are a host of friends as well as several cousins.
