Funeral services will be held in St. Joseph's church for Edwin J. Meder tomorrow morning and burial will be made in St. Joseph's cemetery, the Rt. Rev. Msgr. J. T. Taken officiating.

Edwin Joseph Meder, who was born March 09, 1856, died at his home here last Monday evening at Six o'clock following a lingering illness, at the age of 86 years, one month and four days.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Meder and spent the greatest part of his life on a farm near Clayton.

February 01, 1886, he was united in marriage with Mary Grouney. She preceded him in death April 02nd, this year.

He is survived by four daughters and three sons, as follows: Mrs. Richard Meehan of Harpers Ferry; Mrs. James Meehan of Elkader; Mrs. Mike Downey of Elkader; Mrs. Anna Mueller of Garnavillo; Clem and Fred Meder of Garnavillo and Dr. W. J. Meder of Harlan, Iowa. Twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive.
