Edward Stahl, 66 died of a stroke at his home at Geneseo, Ill. Stahl, a former resident of Elkader, had been ill three months previous to his death.

Services were held at Geneseo on Wednesday afternoon and the body was brought to Communia for interment.

Mr. Stahl was born April 12, 1879 at Elkader. His parents were Carl and Ernstein Heiden Stahl. He was reared and educated here. At the time of his death he had lived at Geneseo eight years. He was engaged in farming.

He married Caroline Hildebrandt at Elkport, Iowa, March 15, 1906. Surviving are his widow, three daughters, Mrs. Ethel Chaffee and Mrs. Edna Hu_zenga of Geneseo and Mrs. Mae Johnson of Prophetstown; one son, Pfc. Alvin Stahl of Camp Shelby, Miss.; five grandchildren and two brothers, George and Louis, both of Elkader.
