Charles Lewis Klingman, son of Lewis and Elizabeth Klingman, was born in Highland township, Clayton County, June 08, 1872, and died at his home Aug. 26, 1945.
He grew to manhood on his father's farm and attended the public school of the district. His entire life was spent on the farm where he was born.
On Oct. 11, 1899, he was married to Alta Mae Gruver. They were the parents of two children, Mrs. Elizabeth Larson of Elgin, and Carroll of Highland.
He is survived by his widow, daughter and son; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Nellie McKellar, two brothers, Martin of Wadena and Edward of Elgin.
Mr. Klingman's illness and general breakdown has been gradually coming on for the past year, although his family and friends had noticed that he was not himself for sometime.
He was a member of the Illyria Community church.
