Lester Carl Kurth, 44 died suddenly, Thursday evening, June 28 at 8:20 o'clock after being stricken at 5 o'clock in the afternoon with a cerebral hemorrage.

He was born, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kurth, Oct. 27, 1901, in Wagner township. He was married to Esther Kliefoth, Jan. 24, 1923 by Rev. H. Kumpf of Luana, the couple farmed, making Wagner township their place of residence.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Vernon, Ethelyn, Barbara Lee and Karen; one daughter-in-law; three sisters, Mrs. William Engelhardt of Riceville, Mrs. Alma Walter and Mrs. Louis Fuelling, both of Farmersburg; and three brothers, Ed and Elmer of Farmersburg, and Fred of Mason City.

His parents, one sister, and two brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Kurth home and at St. John's Lutheran church in Farmersburg at 2:30 with the Rev. R. C. Schlueter of Monona officiating. Burial was in the Monona City cemetery. Music at the church service was provided by the choir.

Pallbearers were: Ben Fuelling, Otto Severson, Thomas Peterson, Perry Benson, John Sass, Harvey Sass, Harry Kuthe and Clem Walter.
