Miss Esther Wessel, sister of Mrs. E. R. Withell of Elkader, died at Memorial hospital, Casper, Wyo., Monday morning after a two week's illness. Mrs. Withell, called last week to Casper by her sister's illness, arrived home yesterday.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Wood Center church, with burial in the nearby cemetery. The body is at the home of her brother, Arthur Wessell, in Edgewood. The Rev. Dwight Bonham will have charge of the service.

Miss Wessel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Wessel, was born near Edgewood. She was graduated from Edgewood high school in 1917, and became a teacher, holding positions at Raton, N.M.; Iowa Falls, Strawberry Point, and for several years at Casper, Wyo. She lived during the summer vacations with Dr. and Mrs. Withell. Besides the sister and brother already mentioned, she is survived by another sister, Mrs. Sophia Klaus of Colesburg, and by two other brothers, Emil Wessel of Larchwood; and Albert Wessel of Long Island, N.Y.
