Strawberry Point: Funeral services were held Wednesday at the home of Miss Kate Newberry for her sister Mrs. Mary Kingsley who died Sunday at Iowa Methodist hospital in Des Moines where she had been the past three months. As Mary Newberry, daughter of James and Maria Westfall Newberry, she was born near Strawberry Point Sept. 10, 1859. On Feb. 19, 1880 she was married to Henry Kingsley. They lived in Washington, D.C., Chicago, and Des Moines, later coming to make their home with her sister, Miss Kate Newberry. Mr. Kingsley died May 07, 1936. Surviving is a son, Col. Paul N. Kingsley, serving overseas in Germany, eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a sister Miss Kate Newberry of Strawberry Point, and a brother, Dr. Frank Newberry of Los Angeles, Calif. Rev. W. B. O'Neill was in charge of the funeral service. Casket bearers were Fred Davis, Elton Cross, George Dunfrund, J. H. Klingbeil, J. J. Mathews and Alfred Osteman.
